Beast of the East Bracket: Canes 14, Charlotte Elite 2

The Canes opened bracket play with the sun still down, playing an 8 a.m. rematch against Carolina Elite. This time the outcome was a 14-2 victory in a game shortened to four innings by the time limit.

Elite scored a run in the top of the first, but the Canes responded with five in the bottom of the frame and the game was never really in doubt after that.

You already knew how good they are at baseball, but have you ever noticed what magnetic personalities the Canes have? This is during a pitching change, as Ty entertains almost the entire Elite team:

Asher finished it up with two innings of solid relief.

Dugout wisdom
A lot of wisdom gets passed when the Canes are in the field defensively. Watching the team warm up before an inning, Coach Kevin I observed, "Drew looks like a first baseman."

Gavin replied, "Right now he does."

Drew was currently playing first base and standing on the bag.
