Cap Classic Quarterfinals: Canes 8, Rivercats 12U 0

In a bit of a unique situation, the Canes had to face the Rivercats 12U team, which was playing up in 13U, in quarterfinal action at the Cap Classic. The Rivercats played tough early, and the game was 0-0 going into the bottom of the third. That's when the Canes broke it open with a five-run third, eventually pulling away to win 8-0 in five innings in a game ended by the run rule.

The standout was Bennett's four-inning, one-hit, zero-walk pitching performance. With Bryce finishing up the fifth inning work, the Rivercats did not advance a runner past first base in the game.

The victory advanced the Canes to semifinal action against the Pittsburgh Outlaws.
