Summer World Series Quarterfinals: Dirtbags 11, Canes 9

A weekend of playing from behind finally bit the Canes, as the Dirtbags clubbed four home runs, including a grand slam, on the way to an 11-9 victory. Homers accounted for the 'Bags final nine runs of the game.

As was tradition during the Summer World Series, Evoshield played from behind throughout the afternoon. The Dirtbags led 7-4 going into the bottom of the third...and the Canes came back. The Dirtbags led 9-7 going into the bottom of the fourth...and the Canes came back. The Dirtbags led 11-9 going into the bottom of the fifth...and finally there wasn't enough offense left in the tank.

The Canes were outhit for the second straight game, making this the first time in the 12U season (both spring and fall) that they have been outhit in two consecutive games.
