Was it cold at 7:30 in Knightdale? You decide:
We have put in a request for the Canes to produce team snuggies for the next merchandise order.
Despite the chilly temperatures, the Canes pulled out a 7-2 victory in a game that somehow took 1:45 to play but only saw them have three offensive innings. That was primarily due to some very long at-bats. The Canes got just four hits, but they also drew seven walks in those three offensive innings. To put that into perspective, Canes pitchers walked seven batters in the two Sunday games combined.
Because of the way the other games went and the round-robin format, the victory meant the Canes won the tournament championship. But there was still one game to play, so hold on to your snuggies.

Macon fired a scoreless third.
Gavin gave way to Colin in the fourth, who worked out of a jam.
Dugout wisdom
Sunday morning's early arrival to the field meant the Canes coaches learned quite a bit about the art of "saving the cage" for an imaginary team. In addition, Coach Kevin II was able to offer some advice to other teams about how to arrive at the field in order to get the cage first.

Game 3 Web Gems
- With runners on second and third and two outs in the second, Colin charged in hard on a roller to second, made the quick transfer, and finished it with an accurate throw to end the inning.
- Nice bunt coverage in the fourth, as Colin fielded a sacrifice bunt back to the pitcher and threw to a hustling Jake covering first to get the out.
