In their first comeback of the tournament, the Canes trailed the RBA Southies 6-4 after three innings in a game that would only go four due to the time limit. But they scraped together four runs in the top of the fourth to take an 8-6 lead, then shut down the Southies in the bottom of the frame to seal the victory.
Looking at the stats, the victory was a bit of a surprise. The Canes committed four errors, walked four, hit one, left six runners in scoring position in just four offensive innings, and ran into a double play.
Other than that, things went well.
But the most important stat was that it was a victory, creating a 2-0 mark in pool play. The second day of pool play begins bright and early on Saturday morning with an 8 a.m. start.

Dugout wisdom
Coach Kevin I was telling a story about fishing when a thunderstorm hit. Andrew replied, a little incredulously, "So you stopped fishing?" Coach Kevin I said, "I like my life, Andrew." Andrew appeared to seriously consider this choice and then said, "Fishing...life...fishing...life," while trying to size up which had more value to him.
Later in the game, Gavin was asked to bunt with two runners on. He failed on two attempts (and then was hit by a pitch). In that same inning, Andrew was sent up to pinch-hit and promptly laid down a run-scoring bunt on the very first pitch. "You did that better than me, I'll give you that," Gavin said when Andrew returned to the dugout.

Game 2 Web Gems
- Ty claimed to have made a web gem during the pre-inning warmups. We will take his word for it.
- Nice pickoff move from Chace to nail a runner at first in the second.
